School Program

In our effort to continually expand and adjust our school program to stay up to date with current developments we focus on the following areas:

  • Certification: Besides the „Tawjihi“, the Palestinian high school degree, the German International Abitur (DIAP) is available to students. This involves new or additional qualifications, as well as learning methods and strategies that differ from the Palestinian education system. The DIAP is recognized worldwide.
  • Foreign Languages: English education begins in kindergarten with German starting in second grade.
  • Hands-On Learning: Science education in the Palestinian system does not require that students carry out experiments. At Talitha Kumi, in contrast, there is a strong emphasis on teaching experimental techniques so that our students learn by hands-on experimentation. This creates the opportunity, especially for girls, to discover science in a fun way and as a way into possible future employment of a technical nature.
  • Didactics: Less lecture-style teaching, and more participatory learning.
  • Learning outside the classroom: Extensive extracurricular and afterschool programs.
